Welcome to Freshman Center Physical Education

Welcome to PE at the Freshman Center! We are excited that you are here visiting our blog. On this site you will find everything you need to survive our course including links to videos, article, and our leaderboard of workout data. Our curriculum is fitness, fitness, and more fitness! We will then apply all of these concepts to your favorite games and sports. Our goal is for our students to leave the Freshman Center with a solid fitness foundation in principles, concepts, technique, safety, and progression. Students will be learning and practicing lifting techniques and exercises that can be applied to everyday tasks making them functional movements. Students can expect to be sore some days and will learn how to handle soreness with proper stretching, hydration, and patience.

WORLD-CLASS FITNESS IN 100 WORDS

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.
